If you live in Victoria or like your horse racing, you might have been a bit confused yesterday.
Apparently, it was derby day, but everyone in the know knows the real Derby Day is today.
Manchester United v. Manchester City.
It does not get much bigger than that.
While local derbies have always been big deals, the petro-dollar-fuelled rise of City has given this one even extra sparkle and as always, Reds will be out in force all over the country.
Big numbers are expected at official meets in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth with every official supporters club taking advantage of tonight’s relatively early kick off.
The Manchester United Supporters Club of Victoria will be meeting at the Charles Dicken’s Tavern on Collins Street, Melbourne.
The New South Wales branch will be meeting in Sydney at Scruffy Murphy’s, 43-49 Goulburn Street, Sydney.
In Brisbane, the Brisbane Manchester United Supporters Club will be packing out the Pig ‘n’ Whistle on Eagle Street in the CBD.
Perth supporters are gathering at the Mount Henry Tavern on 27 Manning Road, Perth.
If you are in Adelaide, you can catch up with fellow Reds at the Rosemont – located on 160 Hindley Street, Adelaide.
If you’re heading to any of the live venues make sure you take plenty of photos and videos so we can spread the word about the great atmospheres provided by the local supporters clubs.
Additionally, if anyone knows any Australian Reds who will be in attendance, please let us know.
Please check with your local supporters clubs for local kick-off times and/or directions.
You can find more information on all the clubs on the Association’s “Supporter Club” page.
