Welcome to the new and improved OZMUFC.com – the home of the Manchester United Supporters Association of Australia.
OZMUFC has a simple goal – to bring more Manchester United fans together, more often.
The group was founded in 2011 by Matthew Galea with the launch of a website and social media channels, but has recently been inactive due to Matt’s work commitments.
While the website was originally used as a platform for Australian Manchester United fans to blog about everything to do with the club, it will have a slightly different focus as a part of the reboot.
The site will still allow Aussie Manchester United fans to opine on the club’s on-field and off-field matters, but it will now hope to bring the actual fans to the forefront.
After all, this is a website for the fans, by the fans.
There has been impressive growth in the activity of Manchester United supporters since the association was founded in 2011.
Supporters clubs have popped up in Brisbane and Perth, with the former even being recognised as the Footy Fans Down Under overseas supporter club of the year in 2013.
As a result, the focus of the website will shift from analysing the football of Manchester United, but instead look to tell the stories of the United faithful in Australia and keep fans up to date with all the happenings of supporters clubs around Australia.
Matt will continue to run the website and will be actively looking for stories of Manchester United fans in Australia doing great things, as well as hoping to promote the activities of supporters clubs and getting more fans involved.
Anyone wishing to contact Matt can do so on Twitter: @mg91, or via email: firstname.lastname@example.org
